Quick Facts on
Sustainable Products
What Makes a Product Sustainable? At SRG, we focus on:
• Verified recycled content
• Regenerative materials
• Locally and responsibly sourced
• Designed for circularity (recyclable)
• Give-back initiatives
• Brands that align with our values
Recyclability: The recyclability of materials varies by location. Ensure products are
sortable and accepted by your local Material Recovery Facility (MRF) before claiming
they are recyclable.
Compostable Plastics: Most organic waste programs do not accept compostable
plastics. These plastics often do not degrade quickly enough and can introduce
chemicals and microplastics into fertilizers, potentially affecting ecosystems and human
health.
Recycled Polyester: Only 9% of plastic waste is recycled, with 79% ending up in
landfills. While RPET is still fossil fuel-based, it reduces landfill plastic and reliance on new
plastic production, making it a sustainable textile option.
Aluminum: Aluminum is a highly recyclable material, easy to sort, and widely available
as recycled material. It uses less energy, water, and transportation to produce and is
infinitely recyclable without losing its properties.
Decarbonized Buildings: SRG is reducing energy usage through retrofits, fuel switching,
and efficiency projects, achieving real carbon reductions without relying on offsets. These
efforts lower the embodied carbon footprint of the products we offer.
Responsible Sourcing: True sustainability requires ethical and responsible production. St
Regis ensures partner factories are socially audited and closely monitored.
Tips on Selling Sustainability:
• Know Your Product: source, material, certifications, percentage of materials,
supplier initiatives
• Tell the Story: Sustainability is more than a product. Why is this product better?
• Show the Value: It’s not just a product—it’s a value add to their brand.
